Why you should buy this
Good working conditions
This product is knitted in a small factory in Lithuania, following European standards and salaries. The recycled fabric is woven in Portugal. The GOTS certified part is wowen in India.
Using discarded material and making it into new long lasting high quality thread elevates the value of the raw material and reduces waste.
Hekne never buy big amounts of fabric for production, to make sure they don’t end up with excess materials. They don’t mind using the same materials for different collections if it means using what they already have in stock, and they want to give their garments a life that lasts longer than one season.
Partly GOTS Certified
The production of the fabric holds GOTS Standards, which makes sure there are good working conditions in both the weaving and the colouring process. The shell fabric is wowen in Turkey and coloured in Germany, both under GOTS standard. The lining fabric is wowen in India, also under GOTS Standard.
This product is partly made out of recycled yarn, broken down from used material.
The fabric that is GOTS certified in this product is organic. This means that it is grown in compliance with organic agricultural standards that protect the environment and wildlife. Natural methods are used to manage soil quality, diseases, and other issues that arise during the farming process. It is not made with use of synthetic fertilizers or herbicides that strip land of nutrients, and artificial chemicals and GM (Genetically Modified) crops are banned.
