How it's made


Excellent working conditions

This product is 100% produced in Italy, in a small factory in the region of Teseo. They are responsible for the whole process. There are a few workers,  and the relationship between the factory and designer, Christina, is close. Christina visit the factory a couple of times a year, as it is only a short train ride away.


The silk used is 100% Organic, which means there are no pesticides or chemicals used in the process. It carries the GOTS certification. The Global Organic Textile Standard was developed through collaboration by leading standard setters with the aim of defining requirements that are recognized world-wide, and that ensures that the organic status of textiles is carried through, from harvesting of the raw materials, through environmental and socially responsible manufacturing, and all the way to labeling,  in order to provide credible assurance to the consumer.

The silk is Organic Charmeuse and Crepe de Chine silk, sourced from India.

Christina Leonor makes no compromises in any parts of her production process. The manufacturing skills of the production sites are of high standards, and the quality of each chosen material is impeccable.

Non Toxic

All the fabrics used for this product is certified organic via the GOTS Certification, which implies that there are no use of chemicals in the process.

Water Saving

Silk, and especially organic silk,  requires less water than other materials.

Supporting Traditional Skills

In the factory there are only workers from the region, with knowledge of old traditional skills that are worth to preserve, which as well gives economic growth to the community.

The silk rearing, from India, are practiced by women for centuries in low scale and with an organic process. Together with a build up of a marked, it increases helps the women and future generations to create a better livelihood where they themselves own the production and set the framework for it.

Low Carbon Footprint

By doing all her production in one place, and sourcing materials as close to home as possible, Christina saves a lot of travel miles and carbon emission in the production process.

Waste reduction with On Demand production

When products are made on demand, not before you order them, it heightens the value of each piece, and also saves the environment from overproduction.

Biodegradable and compostable

This product is biodegradable and can be composted in a compost bin with other biodegradable materials when worn out. The thread might not biodegrade like the rest of the material, but these can be removed from compost easily when garment is 100% decomposed. Read more about how to biodegrade at home.
